1→ Never wear the same pair of shoes two days in a row: it takes 24 hours for perspiration absorbed during the day to evaporate.
2→ Place shoes on shoe trees as soon as they are taken off: they will retain their original shape longer.
3→ Always use a shoehorn to put on your shoes: forcing the heel on the counter will eventually break it.
4→ Let wet shoes dry at room temperature and never in the sun or near a heat source: the leather may harden and crack.
5→ Dust your shoes regularly: leather with a damp cloth, nubuck with a stiff-bristled brush.
6→ Do not overuse shoe polish: a small amount is enough. 7→ Use shoe polish of the same or a lighter shade to maintain the color: a darker shade will permanently alter the color.
8→ Switch to a beeswax-based shoe polish once and for all.
9→ Be careful with sole modifications: rubber pads alter the balance of the shoes and put more pressure on the seams.
10→ Entrust your resoling to a reputable professional.
